Welcome to my secret garden

Welcome to my secret garden from blog.cleanlinestudio.com

Hey guys. Welcome to my garden! It’s only a secret because I haven’t mentioned it til now, which feels strange because my garden is currently one of my most beloved interests. We moved into our Northern Liberties row home after a painful 2+ year renovation. It’s been a slow process to correct mistakes made by our terrible contractor inside the home. Our energy level and enthusiasm was very low in terms of tackling the backyard. We’ve lived in the home for 3.5 years, and have finally made the commitment to getting the backyard in shape. Our home is quite small, around 1000 square feet on a good day. Our backyard, however, is nearly the same size (a pretty huge deal by Philadelphia standards). We still have a lot of work to do back there, but I’m turning into quite the little gardener! I’ve always loved plants and flowers.┬áHaving the space to nurture and enjoy my plant babies means the world to me. I’m only showing close ups of the larger plants today. As soon as the scaffolding comes down, I’ll show you the whole space, and the growth of each garden bed. Welcome to my garden (after the jump)!!!!

it’s beautiful! i’m working on my garden as well but it’s SO SMALL and we’re renting so i feel weird about planting when i know it’s not permanent. but i want to plant so many herbs! ugh. such a dilemma.

Oh, I totally understand that, Bri! You could always do a lot of container planting, which should work well for herbs so long as you have good light!

Gorgeous! I love having a little garden. Isn’t it such a good feeling when the things you plant actually start to grow + look beautiful? I know the feelings – like a proud mama! Excited to see what the whole space looks like! Hope you have a beautiful weekend! xo

Thanks so much, Sarah! I know what you mean, I totally love caring for my plants and watching them flourish. We still have a lot of work to do in our backyard, but I’m really happy with the progress we’ve been making and I just love digging in the dirt! Happy weekend to you too!

Wow! Also, quite ironic, as we are n the same timeframe…been so focused on our interiors that 3.5/4 years in, we’re finally giving some much needed attention to the outside. This helps inspire me!
