secrets to a fashionable pregnancy + maternity brands to shop

fashionable pregnancy outfits, maternity style tips, maternity brands to shop, fashionable pregnancy Women have been giving birth since you know, like pretty much the beginning of time. The majority of us ladies are mothers, or will become mothers at some point in our lives. So why oh why is it STILL so difficult to find something attractive to wear during that magical time on your life? Maternity clothes tend to come in really lame pastel colors and are often cut in super matronly styles. I’ve found it to be of a lot of work to dress the way I want while preggers, but since I’ve already done it once (and I’m half way done with round 2, woot!), I thought I’d share some favorite brands and tips and tricks with you. Not pregnant? Pin this for later, you won’t be sorry!

a rainy day with joules

a rainy day with joules, joules, rain boots, rainy day, wellies, wellington boots, wellies rain boots, mother daughter, mother daughter fashion, mother daughter rain boots “Mommy, mommy, it’s raining today.” Imagine Eva saying that sentence, and now replace the slightly disappointed tone you’ve assumed with sheer jubilation. We’ve had our matching mother / daughter rain boots from Joules for over a month now, but haven’t had the chance to take them for a test spin. This past Sunday we finally had our chance, and we went for it!

inspired by super-textured knitwear

textured knitwear inspiration, knitwear style, textured sweater fashion

I really like the styles I’ve been seeing for fall. Jeans continue to trend awfully skinny and leggings are still a thing.  But knits (specifically sweaters and vests), seem to be massive and full of texture. I think the two compliment each other so beautifully. I also think a big textured knit is a nice replacement for fur, whether you’re opposed to it or it’s just not in the budget.  Check out a bunch of inspiration images after the jump!

fall fashion wish list 2014

fall fashion wish list 2014 from www.blog.cleanlinestudio.com

Hey guys, sorry for the late post and happy almost weekend! I just got the very exciting news that I’ll be attending the Martha Stewart American Made Summit in a few weeks, and of course my first thought was what the heck am I going to wear?! I really like the vibe of this outfit. The mix of soft fur and bold bling feels just right to me. If you caught Wednesday’s post, I am actually wearing that exact wool headband in the photos. I’m seeing a lot of vests this year, and I’m ready to jump on board with this trend. I haven’t purchased the one shown here, instead I am in the process of disassembling a very 80’s white rabbit fur jacket to create something similar to what’s pictured here (at least that’s how I hope it turns out).

So, will I be seeing any of your lovely faces at the American Made Summit, or the meet up the night before? Please let me know if you’ll be there, I’d love to say hello in person! Have a great weekend y’all!

An at home manicure worth your time

at home manicure worth your time from www.blog.cleanlinestudio.com

Hey guys! If you know me well, then you will know that 90% of the time my nail polish looks pretty chipped, worn, and battered. Between gardening, playing with my kiddo and just living my life, regular nail polish only looks good for approximately 12 – 24 hours. I occasionally ( a few times a year) get a gel manicure which tends to hold up for about 10 days…never the 3 weeks they promise at the salon. With my less than stellar home manicure track record, I’m here today to tell you about a new products that I LOVE, Sally Hanson miracle gel! You can buy it at pretty much any pharmacy, and you will need both the top coat (black bottle) and the color coat. The price for each is very comparable to any decent nail polish at about $10 a pop. There’s no uv light required, and it lasts (EVEN ON ME) for at least a week, probably 2 if you’re more careful with your nails. So far I have purchased grey matters, winestock, and birthday suit. You can see all the available colors here.

striking Fashion Illustration by Leigh Viner

striking Fashion Illustration by Leigh Viner at www.blog.cleanlinestudio.com

Hey Friends, happy Friday! Sorry for the late post. I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather this week, but when I cam across these gawgeous fashion illustrations on etsy, I just had to share. The artist behind all this loveliness is named Leigh Viner. She refuses to settle on a specific type of art. She works as an illustrator, photographer and designer from Denver, Colorado. I’m really into her work, especially the more abstract fashion illustrations! Have a great weekend and check out more of Leigh’s work after the jump!

funky chunky necklaces by floti

funky chunky necklaces by floti Hey guys! I recently discovered this super cool shop on etsy called floti that I wanted to share with you. They’re based in Athens, and create these whimsical, slightly bizarre necklaces out of clay (and sometimes painted). To me they look like a very modern interpretation of a sea creature. I’m especially fond of the ones that include a bit of terra cotta color, and the “smile” design shown above. I love the idea of accessorizing jeans and a t-shirt with a piece like these. Aren’t they fun? See more after the jump…

A new fashion find: COS

A new fashion find: COS

Have you guys heard of COS? I hadn’t until last week. They are a swedish company that’s been around since 2007 and are owned by the same corporation as H&M. I love how simple and easy their pieces are, and their seasonal color palettes are just perfection. I was shocked to learn that as well as looking super high end fashionable, these pieces are also affordable! They have some great options for the dudes, and some really cute stuff for the littles as well. Which pieces are your favorites? See a bunch more after the jump!
